Why I Built Focus Play

"I’ve spent years struggling to stay organized, manage my time, and fight off the guilt that comes with feeling “unproductive.” Like so many neurodivergent people, traditional productivity systems just didn’t fit how my brain works — they made me feel like I was constantly falling behind. I built Focus Play because I needed something different. I needed something that didn’t feel like a punishment or endless checklist. Focus Play turns the process into a game, where every small win counts, progress is celebrated, and consistency feels achievable. This isn’t just an app — it’s the tool I wish I had years ago.

After years of trial and error with rigid task managers and overwhelming systems, I recognized a gap in the market for a tool that leverages gamification to support executive function, habit formation, and sustained focus. Focus Play blends evidence-based habit-building strategies with engaging, game-like mechanics designed to help users stay motivated, track progress, and build long-term routines — particularly for individuals with ADHD and other executive function challenges. My mission is to make productivity feel accessible, achievable, and even enjoyable."
